The District Attorney is elected by the voters of the Alapaha Judicial Circuit that consists of Clinch, Atkinson, Lanier, Cook, and Berrien Counties for four-year terms. The District Attorney represents the state in all criminal cases in Superior Court. The District Attorney advises grand juries in relation to matters of law, prepares indictments or presentments when requested by the grand jury, prosecutes all indictable offenses, and argues criminal cases on appeal. The District Attorney also supervises the Alapaha Circuit's Victim Assisstance Program.
